Posted on: 13/09/2023Open Evening for Year 6 Families - Thursday 5th October 2023We warmly invite Year 6 families to our annual Open Evening on Thursday 5th October 2023. Tours of the school available from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. There will be a presentation in the main hall by Marc Belli, Headteacher at 5.30pm; repeated at 6.15pm and 7.00pm. The choice of secondary school can be one of the most challenging for parents. In choosing The Bishop of Llandaff, be assured that your child will be joining a school which is recognised as ‘excellent’ in every area by Estyn and diocesan authorities. Our examination performance is consistently amongst the best in the country (not just Wales!) and each year our students perform well above their expectations. However, our school is not just about achievement in public examinations. Our students develop a broad set of skills which prepares them for adult life, and they develop strong moral values built on love, acceptance, responsibility and forgiveness. We believe these values help create a more tolerant society and help young people grow in character.

Posted on: 10/11/2022Sixth Form Open Evening (17.11.22)As students in Year 11 begin to think about post-16 education, families must be confident that the support their child will receive gives them the best chance of success. On Thursday 17th November 2022, we look forward to welcoming existing students and prospective Year 11 students to our sixth form open evening. The event will commence at 5.30pm with a presentation in the main hall, followed by an opportunity to discuss options via subject stalls. External applicants may arrive from 4.45pm and speak with existing students and the sixth form team. Our sixth form is a vibrant and dynamic community where students receive high quality teaching in a culture of high expectations and excellent pastoral care. All students are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential, as shown by our excellent results. In 2022, 39% of students achieved 3 or more A*A grades; while 90% achieved 3 or more A*C grades. Overall, 52% of all grades were at A*A standard; 75% at A*B and 94% at A*C. Successful applicants would be joining one of the top performing sixth forms across the country.

This meeting will take place at 7.00pm in the main hall. The purpose of the meeting is to provide support and guidance to families on how best to support their children throughout the year.
Posted on: 23/09/2022Year 6 Open Evening (Thursday 6th October 2022)Our Open Evening for Year 6 families will take place on Thursday 6th October 2022 from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Tours of the school with an opportunity to speak to students and staff in departments will be available until 7.00pm. There will be a presentation from Mr Belli, Headteacher, at 5.30pm, which is repeated at 6.15pm and 7.00pm. We look forward to welcoming you. To Apply Applicants will need to complete and submit the school application form. This should be submitted to the admissions officer. Application packs and forms will be available on the night. Alternatively, you can access these via the link. In addition, families will be required to complete their local authority online portal form, indicating The Bishop of Llandaff CiW High School as their preferred choice (where this is the case!). Both elements of the application needs to be completed by no later than 12.00pm on Monday 21st November 2022.

This meeting will take place at 7.00pm in the main hall. The purpose of the meeting is to provide support and guidance to families of students in the sixth form on how best to support their children, upon commencing AS studies and supporting new Year 13 students with their final year.
